about

Cu Sith is pronounced 'koo she' and is Scottish-Gaelic in origin.

This song is about the Cu Sith, also called the Black Angus 'faery dog', a harbinger of death roaming the moors of Scotland. According to legend it comes in the form of a large black dog with glowing eyes and a braided tail.

Trivia: The song is a play on the legend, as it tells about a fictional killer pirate called Angus who was hanged in a Scottish town and now haunts the moors AS a Black Angus or Cu Sith.

lyrics

CU SITH

On the moors at night I see him
Blackest hound of dreams
Come the faerie tale of Nightmares
I can hear him scream

Pirate king of old, a hangman
Brought his illest will
Made a pit of death in Bargeist
Many did he kill

(Chorus)
Look into the night
Angus calling...
Hold your breath in fright
Angus coming...

Here in quiet night I see him
Wet with braided tail
Haunting in his way of sorrow
I can hear him wail!

(Chorus) x2
